Geraldine who in her own words became an accidental addict to benzodiazepines appeared on one of the largest natural health orientated world wide internet radio shows with up to half million listeners in 41 countries on december the 8th 2006. She was interviewed by Dr Gloria Gilbere who herself was an accidental addict. This radio show focus's on what benzodiazepine addiction can do to people and highlights the problem that many people don't even realise that they are hooked prescription drugs until they try to stop their tranquillisers or sleeping pills. They also highlight the increasing ill effects that being on benzos long term can produce in people, as the addiction progresses. The message on this radio chat show is one of hope and encouragement that those wanting to free themselves from sedative-hypnotic addiction can be successful and it does not necessarily have to be a painful process if drug withdrawal program is done slow enough. The Radio show focus's on involuntary addiction to prescription benzodiazepines.

Geraldine Burns formed the first benzodiazepine addiction dedicated support group on the internet commonly called benzo yahoo group. She is a tireless campaigner and has dedicated and contributed a lot to the benzodiazepine recovery community. Geraldine also started the Benzodiazepine Awareness Network International which was set up to bring about responsible prescribing of benzodiazepines and raise awareness of the addictive potential of these drugs and started a petition against benzodiazepines. Geraldine was involved in helping Professor Ashton publish the Ashton Manual. She is also the editor of allaboutanxiety.net. She also is responsible for setting up a website with every benzo book available as e-book format.

The aim of this particular radio show was to bring awareness to presciption addiction to benzodiazepine sleeping pills and tranquillisers.
